This 27.2 mm suspension seatpost includes a shim adaptor that increases the fitting diameter to 30.9 mm. It provides a quick and convenient way to add extra comfort to a bike with a 30.9 mm seat tube.
To install it, remove your existing 30.9 mm seatpost, place the supplied shim around the 27.2 mm suspension post, and fit both parts into the bike’s seat tube. Always check that the shim and seatpost are inserted beyond their minimum insertion marks before tightening the seatpost clamp.
The built-in suspension helps absorb bumps and vibration from rough roads, gravel tracks and uneven trails. This can create a smoother and more comfortable ride. It is suitable for mountain bikes, commuter bikes, hybrid bikes and other compatible bicycles with a 30.9 mm seat tube.
The seatpost has a total length of 350 mm and provides approximately 40 mm of suspension travel. This movement allows the internal coil spring to compress when the bike passes over bumps or rough surfaces.
Adjustable Spring Tension
You can adjust the spring tension to suit the rider’s weight and preferred level of firmness. Use a suitable hex key to turn the adjustment bolt located at the bottom of the seatpost.
Turn the bolt clockwise to increase the spring tension for a heavier rider or a firmer feel. Turn it anticlockwise to reduce the spring tension for a lighter rider or a softer feel.
Make small adjustments and test the seatpost after each change. Do not loosen the adjustment bolt beyond its safe operating range.
