Right Handed Baitcasting Reel – Black/Gold, 7.1:1, 12+1 Bearings, 20lb Drag, 230g
Overview
This right handed baitcasting reel suits anglers who prefer winding with their right hand while holding the rod in their left. Its black body and gold accents combine with a compact, low-profile shape and alloy construction.
At 230g, it provides a manageable starting point for a casting outfit. Pair it with a compatible baitcasting rod, then choose line and lures within the rod’s stated ratings. Rod, line and tackle are sold separately.
The 7.1:1 gear ratio turns the spool 7.1 times for each complete handle rotation. As a result, you can retrieve slack quickly between casts. However, actual line recovery also depends on spool diameter and how much line it holds.
Key features
- Right-side retrieve handle with two black grips.
- 7.1:1 gear ratio for fast spool rotation.
- 12+1 bearing configuration.
- Stated maximum drag power of 20lb.
- Black and gold finish with alloy construction.
- Aluminium spool and brass gear, as identified in the supplied component diagram.
- Stainless steel main shaft and carbon fibre drag washers.
Key benefits of this Baitcasting Reel
- Retrieve comfortably with your preferred hand. The right handed reel places the winding handle on the right during normal use.
- Pick up slack promptly. The high gear ratio helps you recover loose line before working your lure again.
- Plan your line choice using diameter-based capacities. This gives a clearer guide than breaking strain alone, which varies between lines.
- Build a coordinated outfit. The black and gold finish pairs with a range of casting rods and accessories.

How to use, care and safety
First, secure the reel firmly in a compatible casting rod’s reel seat. Next, spool your chosen line evenly under light tension. Avoid overfilling, because excess line can make spool control harder.
Before fishing, practise short casts in an open area. Use your thumb to control the spool, particularly as the lure lands. Baitcasting equipment takes practice, so increase casting distance gradually.
Set the drag to suit your line, knots and rod. The stated maximum drag is not a recommended everyday setting. Also, never use the reel or rod to pull free a snagged hook.
After use, wipe the reel clean and allow it to dry before storage. Avoid immersion and high-pressure washing. Saltwater sealing is unspecified, so do not assume the internal components are waterproof.
Finally, keep hooks clear of other people when casting. Slight differences in colour and surface appearance can occur because of lighting, camera settings and screen displays.
