This sleeping bag is suitable for most New Zealand winter conditions. It is a lightweight sleeping bag which weighs only 1350 grams. This sleeping bag is a great value alternative to some of the more well known brands which can cost up to twice the price.

Because it uses duck down filling it is a lightweight sleeping bag which will lighten your load and take up less room-in your pack. It has an excellent temperature to weight ratio meaning it will keep you warm without weighing you down.

800 Duck Down Filling

An important part of a sleeping bag is it's zipper. CD series sleeping bags use YKK zippers which are a reliable zipper which will not split easily or get you stuck inside your down sleeping bag. The zipper is also a dual zipper which can be used to vent out the bag should you need cooling down at night.

Behind the YKK zipper this amazing sleeping bag has a puffy layer of fabric which is filled with duck down. This layer blocks out the cold which can seep through the zipper keeping you warmer at night. This barrier is essential when using the sleeping bag in colder conditions.

Ensure you use a sleeping bag liner to reduce the need for cleaning. A sleeping bag liner will also keep you warmer as it ads another layer of protection.

Tips on Use

When you first get your sleeping bag remove it from it's compression bag. These sleeping bags have been stored in their bags for a while so will appear flat and crumpled when you first see it.

Air it out in a warm area and shake it occasionally for a few days, this will help restore the bags loft and remove any residual smell from production. We advise doing the same a few days before it's use and that it is unpacked as soon as you reach your hut or campsite. Down sleeping bags need time to loft out, the more they loft out the warmer they will be when used.
